Driving on the way to school today my brother and I passed a vehicle with the vanity plate of "itsup2u". Now, normally I'd think that this is cheesy and all that stuff, but today it just struck me differently. I actually stopped for a second to think that it really is up to you. You can't change everything in the world, but how you take it in is really.. up to you. This sort of thinking has of course been passed on to me by my Psych teacher, which, if anyone has ever had the psychology class at east high you know who Mr. Goodvin is. The point being, all of our feelings on everything are so self guided, and yes, I know that we can't be positive about everything, but if it's just the small stuff we stay upbeat about it's really possible that we can attain a higher form of happiness.
On a totally unrelated note:
Stop and smell the Roses. I want to live by this motto; it's cheesy as hell but true.
I'm reading East of Eden by John Steinbeck currently, and it's probably one of my favorite things I've ever read. His adaptation of the story of Cain and Abel is great and I'm drawn into it.
Uh, I dunno. Speech practice is going on full blown, tomorrow is speech night, wednesday I have to work, Thursday I have speech practice, Saturday is state... and I want to do it. I want to accomplish what I had last year... and I will.
